After a wedding ceremony has taken place, the new couple will invite family and friends to drinks and food as they receive them in a party meant to celebrate the big occasion. At a wedding reception, food is in plenty. The kind of dishes will vary from culture to culture and one thing you can be sure of is that you will find them very delicious. The style of service can be buffet or any other depending on the kind of style that the organizers choose. Invited guests come with empty stomachs at a wedding reception for a reason which is; to indulge as much as possible. The number of people present at a reception will depend on the number of wedding invitations that were sent out. For example, in western wedding, close friends and relatives are invited to the wedding but, in places like Kenya, a wedding is for the community and invitations will be sent out to all people who know the bride and groom. In receptions, a multitude of people will be present to celebrate and make the day a huge success. If you wish to have a limited number of people, make out clear invitations so that you can achieve this. With food, you will find the presence of drinks and, many will opt to go with their best choice of wine. Soft drinks and fruit juices are also a feature of reception parties. In other cultures, traditional drinks like porridge will be served to guests.
There are so many other features of a wedding reception that I cannot mention but, I will not forget to mention the all important wedding cake. A cake and a reception are synonymous and, you will not attend a reception which does not have cake. We all have a sweet tooth and during the party, the cake will stay on display waiting for its chance as the show stopper. When all is said and done, the couple will cut the cake and feed each other in a sensual manner. The maids will be at hand to serve cake to guests who will participate in sharing the sweet cake of love. There is nothing more pleasurable than spending your afternoon or evening at a reception where you celebrate love.
